The Brindled Square Spot or Square Spot (Paradarisa consonaria) is a moth of the Geometridae family. It is found in most of Europe.
It is a variable species and has a tendency to melanism. Well-marked individuals are quite easy to identify from the dark square spot on the forewing.
The wingspan is 40-45 mm. Adults are on wing from April to June.
The larvae feed on various deciduous and coniferous trees.
